*I’d go back if I were in a hurry, but I wouldn’t go back for the food.  The initial service was super fast, we wasted no time standing in line.

*The two things that stood out today with my lunch at Zarda's : 1. Portions - I'm still hungry!  2. Value - They charge too much for these small portions!  I had the large sandwich and large is quite a misnomer when applied to a Zarda sandwich.  If  you order a large sandwich at K&M BBQ, you may not be able to finish it.  A standard fare sandwich at LC's is stacked with close to a  half side of beef.  Here's a free tip - throw some more meat on these sandwiches!  As we have found in many BBQ places, the bean side order was small portioned .  Apparently, beans must be more expensive to make than I thought.  Perhaps there is a nationwide  bean shortage and BBQ joints are trying their best to ration beans?  For the little amount I did have to eat, it was not bad.  Brisket was smokey and lean.  The beans were pretty good - all 4 bites.  The service was excellent.  Folks in the BBQ business should take a look at Zarda's operation.  It's a model of efficiency.  OK, I'm going home to get something to eat.

*Cole slaw was terrible.

*I was rolling' up on Zarda's and I noticed a drive through.  What's the deal with that?  It's not a good sign when a barbecue restaurant has a drive through no matter how cool it looks in Johnson County.  I expect to see drive throughs at fast food restaurants.  I guess it ultimately figures Zarda's would have one since it's a step up from Arby's.  Remember the chopped meat sandwich you got in high school?  Well, that's what I got when I ordered the pulled pork sandwich.  I added a small soda without sides and it cost me $6.99 for two scoops of chopped meat and sugar water.  Outrageous!  I split some fries with a colleague to round out my lunch.  Ugh, the fries were nondescript.  I was proud of myself for not ordering fries and saving $2-$3.  After I finished eating, I was still hungry.  Thankfully, I didn't shell out more big bucks for something else.  The only good thing I can say about the place is it's clean and the service was quick.  A huge disappointment just like the other locations.  Save your money and go to Oklahoma Joe's.

*Highly efficient counter service was the best quality of this Zarda location.  Beef had no discernable smoke flavor.  Beans did have a good bite to them. Sauce is o.k.  Fries were average.  Great location for southern suburbanites and quick for an in and out lunch, but I won't go back for the food

*Zarda’s is an average place to go for BBQ.  If you never ate BBQ anywhere else Zarda’s would be good.  The sauce is bland.  The service is excellent and the place is clean.  Not a place I would take someone from out of town who wanted to taste KC BBQ.

*Zarda's is a favorite of  many in KC and has been for a long time….just not for me.  It is rather plain bbq... tender, good meat, but no real smoke flavor and a sauce that is just bland.  The sandwiches are very small.  I was still hungry after buying a sandwich fries and a drink.  The service is great.  The set-up is great, the large dining room is great.  The food is forgetable.

*I had an okay meal at Zardas.  The service was excellent and the beans were very good.  My ham sandwich was okay but not one of my favorites.  I always enjoy ordering from the counter.  It is probably one of the few BBQ places in the Southeast section of Johnson County.
