*Fries were cold. Ribs were great, but late! I liked the spicy sauce
*Decent but average BBQ. I had the
combo plate with a side of slaw. The
slaw was by far the best part of the meal, fresh and tangy with just a hint of
dressing. Exactly the way I like
it. The ham had little smoke flavor
to it, the beef was stringy and the ribs just didn't have that palate pleasing
robust flavor that smoked ribs deserve. The
sauce was good, but a bit too peppery. Even
though their menu said BBQ was there specialty, I didn't have that impression.
I really like black-eyed peas, but whoever heard of serving it with
BBQ.
*The sauce was quite spicy and uneven in "heat" but had a good favor.
The meat was a bit bland and needed the sauce. No BBQ beans!!
:-(
*Three Friends BBQ was okay. The service was poor and the fries were cold. I did
like their ribs and the sauce was excellent. I would go back to get some carry
out ribs but wouldn't go back for a quick lunch.
*I really enjoyed the ribs and the sauce. The ribs had a bite to them with pepper
rub on them. The sauce was different and I thought above average. I would go
back. Everything else was about average or a little above. The ham had a little
more salt in it than I prefer but overall a good experience. Although Rick
whining about how hot the ribs were did not add to the ambiance of what other
wise would have been a very relaxing lunch. Then there were the jokes by Roger
in spite of all that it was worth the trip.
*Not a great BBQ place! The ribs are
their specialty and they are pretty good. The
rest of it is just OK. The catfish
I saw served looked great. Sauce
had quite a bite!
*Didn't much care for the Three Friends BBQ. I
ordered a sandwich and there was so much juice/water in the meat that it soaked
through the bread and turned it to mush. I ordered fries and received 8 fries.
They were cold to boot. There were no beans on the menu. The sauce was OK and
had a little bite to it. Service was horrible - there was one waitress working
the place that afternoon. On the way out, I noticed pieces of plywood and
paneling in the smoker wood pile. I bet that adds a few additional toxins to the
meat. It looks like this place does ribs. Maybe that would be the way to go.
Plan to wait. (boy Jeff...why don't you just tell us what you really thought!) |
