*I
really enjoyed Shorthorns. I had the ham sandwich, beans, ribs and
onion rings. The service was excellent and enjoyed talking to the
manager. The place is across the street from the 3&2 baseball
fields and would be an excellent stop if you are in a tournament and you
have breaks between ballgames. The sauce was a little spicy but it
tasted great on my sandwich. The onion rings were excellent and
also the beans.
*I
was surprised by the breadth of the menu. I ordered my brisket
sandwich lean and it was served that way. The coleslaw was good
and I'm not a big coleslaw fan. Our service was attentive and they
split the check on our receipt . I tried some of the sausage Mike
ordered and it was very flavorful and not fatty. I would order
that next time. This restaurant is in an open space with lots of
light, unusual for a BBQ place.
*Onion
rings were very good. Great place.
*Fried
Onion Rings--Great
*I
think we have a winner in Shorthorns. My beef sandwich was
very good--lean and moist. The sauce has character, not exactly
hot, but spicy. The beans were slightly above average, but a good
complement to the sandwich. They might consider more of the
"under the beef rack" approach as our truly favorite beans
have. Our server was efficient and pleasant. Although the
menu has a full complement of food, Shorthorns could make it as BBQ
alone very easily. The only drawback I found is the noise level; I
felt like I was at Joe's Crab Shack!
*One
of the first places I have been where I liked everything I ordered.
*I
just had the baby back ribs. They were very good and the sauce was
also. Although I did not have a sandwich they were 5 dollars plus
a side. I thought for 10 dollars the ribs could have also given
you one side order. I will go back and try some of the other
items.
*Nice
"sports bar" atmosphere. Service was great. I
would recommend the smoked sausage; it was sliced thin and was made from
a loaf.
*Quite
the find...a new place out on 7 hwy that is worth visiting. I had
a beef and sausage sandwich and split some ribs with Casey. It was
all very good. The sausage gave a spicy taste to the sandwich.
I will go back. |
