*Although I heard complaints about other orders, my traditional beef sandwich was very
good. The beans, however, have a long way to go to be in a competitive league--too many
peppers. The portions were very accomodating for a $2.85 sandwich.
*Rosedales was okay. I decided that ribs for lunch are too much for me. I will keep on
getting my ham sandwich, beans and fries. The ribs were too fatty for me and didn't taste
as good at the ribs coming off the Rick Moehring grill. We had good service and always
enjoy ordering from the counter instead of being waited on. The french fries were good and
hot. The beans were spicy but good. Overall, Rosedales is probably not one of my favorite
BBQ places but still a favorite in KC.
*Slaw was finely chopped with good flavor, but too creamy, I'd give it a 7.
*A pretty average BBQ experience today. The pork sandwich lacked the desired smoked
flavor and was a bit on the fatty side. Fries were average and the beans so so. An
inexpensive lunch for BBQ and the higher mark reflects the good value. A Royal Crown Cola
was a different touch - RC! No Coke/Pepsi! I like being able to order from the counter.
The service is usually faster. For a few bucks more and for a better lunch, one could
drive south a bit and hit Oklahoma Joe's.
*It was very busy at lunch time on a Thursday, but they kept the two
order lines moving fairly quickly. I was pleased to see RC products there! I ordered the
short end rib dinner which costs $2 more than the long end rib dinner and did not have as
much meat as those portions. The ribs were somewhat dry and brittle on the ends. The beans
appeared to have jalapeno peppers in them and enough spices to give them a real kick. The
fries were crinkle cut, crispy and good.
*I have eaten at Rosedales many times and had better meals than I had today. It was
average. I had the long end dinner. Cole slaw, beans, fries and ribs. All were at best
average. No cream soda. I always like to stand and order to avoid a 20% tip. The Rosedale
arch tour was worth the trip. Getting to know someone better is an important reason for
eating out. Where was Janna?
*Beef sandwich was tasty, but the side of beans was not. Good value for portions.
Enjoyed the company of youngest attendee ever - Cooper Bredehoeft at aged two months
seemed to enjoy himself.
*OK for general BBQ, but not for any thing special!
*a return visit to celebrate 3 years of touring...youngest attendee to date...Rosedale's
consistently good food, great fries.
*Always a good meal! Ribs were very tasty and tender...and a very large portion with
slaw, beans and fries for a very low price. They have been in business for more than 60
years and are still doing it right. Well worth the trip.
