*I
was pleasantly surprised by this Johnny's BBQ in Olathe. It
started off well when I saw that you ordered at the counter and got your
food fast. That's the way to do BBQ! The service was fast
and friendly and they had a great lunch special -- regular sandwich,
fries and drink for $6. I decided to try the beans too so my total was
$7.50 -- a pretty good deal for all the food. I thought the beef
sandwich was good - plenty of meat and it was tender. The beans
were hot and a good portion size but I'm not a big fan of green peppers
in my beans so I probably wouldn't get them again. The fries were
hot but nothing special. Overall, I liked this Johnny's and would
go again, especially when I'm down at the Great Mall in Olathe.
*Great
tasting ends.
*One
of the better bbq places that I have been to recently. I had the
pork sandwich which was a luncheon special with fries and drink for $6.
It was a good size sandwich and the bun was fresh, the pork was
great and there was an ample amount of meat. They also gave us so
many fries I could not finish them. They were crispy and done
well. The sauce was good, not too sweet and just spicy
enough. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating, even
though they were busy with the lunch crowd. The restaurant and
bathrooms were clean and in good order. There was plenty of
parking as well. The food was also fast which is important for
lunch. I would definitely go back.
*What
terrific service! I ordered the special: choice of meat
on bun, fries and medium drink for $6.00. The walk-up counter for
ordering was very quick and we were each given our order
before we left the counter. The sliced brisket I had was
smoky and moist. The sauce came in regular and hot. The
regular had too muck of a kick for me, but I am sensitive to hot/spicy
tasting food. The drinks are free refills, which added to the value.
We took a picture out front where there are some nice wrought iron
tables with umbrellas, also a spot for smokers. If it was for
non-smokers, it would be a great place to sit. The guy
at the counter was friendly and fast. The clean, accessible
bathroom was helpful, too. It's hallway included a
"gallery" of photos of outhouses, tastefully framed.
I would go back again.
*Much
better than the other BBQ with the same name. Ample portions of
meat on the sandwich. A regular sandwich was very large and for
under 4 bucks a great deal. The meat was tender but not smoked
enough for my taste.
*Good,
big and fast! I'll go back.
*I
had a great pork sandwich, fries and a drink for 6 bucks. The
service was great and very fast. This is a fine addition to BBQ in
southern Johnson County. |
