*Danny
Edwards has
jumped way
up on my
rating scale
after
today’s
lunch. $6.50
for a
good-sized
sandwich and
a side of
beans is a
real
bargain.
That alone
would not be
enough to
move up far,
but the beef
sandwich was
excellent—moist,
lean, thick
sliced, and
tender.
*This is one
of my
favorite
places to
eat BBQ in
KC. I had an
excellent
burnt end
dinner. The
sauce was
excellent
and the
beans were
very good.
The price
was
reasonable
and we were
served in
about five
minutes.
Danny's is a
small place
with only
seating for
about 20
people.
There are
tables and
chairs
outside. It
is right
next to the
new Sprint
Center which
will be
completed in
the Fall
2007. If I
had a
visitor in
Kansas City
and they
wanted BBQ,
this would
be one of
the first
places I
would bring
them.
*What a
great place.
I gave the
atmosphere a
10 because
it was a
beautiful
day to sit
outside and
view the
skyscrapers.
Not the
atmosphere
we have in
Johnson
County. The
food was
great and
the service
was quick
and
efficient -
just get in
line and you
have your
food in no
time. I
recommend
the burnt
end combo
plate.
*This is a
KC original
spot that
should not
be missed. I
had heard
that they
were losing
their place
to the
downtown
construction,
but they
are still
there. You
park across
the street
and they
validate. The
burnt ends
were
perfect,
smoky,
crunchy, a
bit of this
and a bit of
that. What a
great meal!
