*Nice waitress.
The burnt ends were not real smoky, but good.
My beans were cold and not too flavorful.
The décor was nice for a BBQ joint.
*Coss' was a good, not great,
BBQ experience. The daily
special of a burnt ends sandwich,
fries and beans was tasty and a good price.
Wished for a smokier flavor for the burnt ends, but they were tender. Sauce was on the sweet side without any bite.
The service was outstanding because the one person waiting tables really
hustled. Even though it's a
small place, they accommodated a large group very well.
*Worth
the trip to Gardner. A good BBQ experience. I think we came close to setting a
record on this day for attendance. I had the special (as did 9 others in our
group) which included a Burnt End sandwich, fries, beans and a drink for $6.50.
Great value. The Burnt Ends were somewhat lacking in smoked flavor. However,
they were lean and I'd settle for less smoke flavor in place of more fat. Fries
were decent. Sauce was on the sweet side and tasty. The beans were OK and they
would have been better if served hot instead of lukewarm. Service was very good.
One waitress worked the entire place. Portions were good and as Wendy said, the
place had a "nice atmosphere." I would definitely go back but next
time I'll try a Pork sandwich. Check
em out.
*The burnt ends were tender and not dry like many barbeque
restaurants. The beans were cold, but I think it was because they were not used
to serving a group that size. The size of the pop glasses was generous. The
restaurant was clean and quaintly decorated for barbeque establishment. The
fries were also good. I would definitely go back for the burnt ends, which was
their specialty.
*Great little place!! My "small" sandwich was too much to finish.
The sauce is sweet, just the way I like it.
I'll be back.
*For my first trip, I was very impressed. The
food was quite tasty, and the service was friendly.
Well worth the drive.
*Coss' one and only waitress, Dani, went out of her way to be helpful....there
were 17 of us and they are set up for groups of four and five.....so they really
made an effort......I would go back again to try another menu item.
*Coss' is a well run establishment with a solid menu.
Good portions, cheerful service, and lean beef sandwich meat.
The sauce became too sweet after a while; I think another, spicier option
would be helpful. I would return,
for certain.
*…nice pig collection!
(apparently a comment from one of our remedial reviewers.)
*The sauce was sweet. I like it that
way. The
promise of the 1/2 lb sandwich to deliver a hearty meal did not go
unfulfilled. Fries were great.
Beans need improvement (more meat, more sauce, maybe a little onion), and
were the main contributor to my lowering the overall rating.
A good place; I wish it wasn't so far away.
*Nice trip to Gardner. The waitress did an excellent job
serving all the people in the place. Real red creme soda and free refills. The
portions were above average but the sauce was average. Fries were hot and plenty
of them. Nice pottery dishes for the beans and mine were hot. Enough left from
combo platter to have 2 more meals. If they had another sauce to go with the
sweet sauce served I would go back. Our group is getting bigger and enjoyed
talking to Bob and Marilyn and hope they go again next month.
*Beans
were pretty good, the fries were good and the sandwich was fine but you can
forget about the sauce. It was so
bad I didn't even put any on my sandwich (burnt ends) which was ok without it.
Not a bad experience but I'll bring my own sauce if I happen to go back.
*It was a good meal and well worth the trip to Gardner.
The ribs were tender and tasty. The
beans were good...they could have used a little more smoky flavor. They were
good flavored with the sauce, but would be much better if they spend a little
more time in the smoke. A small
place, but they handled our group of 17 very well.
