*Two things come to mind when I
reflect upon this dining experience, it was inexpensive and the service was
great. I ordered the beef on bun
lunch special, which came with "bottomless" coke, and could not finish
it (mainly due to the overabundance of fries).
What did this feast cost me? - $5.50.
Can't say enough about the service.
They had one, maybe two waitresses handling our large table- and there
wasn't a refill, extra napkin, or second thought side order that fell on deaf
ears. I enjoyed their
"mild" sauce, the spicy sauce wasn't too hot, I just didn't care for
the taste. The meat on my sandwich
was a little dry, but certainly edible with lots of extra sauce (I could have
made a meal out of the fries alone). Great
place to go if you want an inexpensive lunch with large portions.
*Enormous portions of meat and cole slaw
which makes this place a great value. That
is, a great value if you discount the 40 minute drive down there.
*I particularly enjoyed the goofy historical figures gracing the establishment on
those shelves overlooking the dining area.
*I thought the Branding Iron was an excellent place. The food was good and the service was outstanding. I enjoyed the large
portions of fries and beans and my sandwich was very good. It was a nice change
having forks to eat with and not having to buy
pop from a vending machine. This would be an excellent place to stop for
BBQ when you are planning to take a trip to the Ozarks.
*Good, solid BBQ place. Two
different sauces (hot and regular) tasty beans, and generous portions.
Wouldn't make a forty minute drive here for the BBQ, but would stop in if
passing by or in the area.
*The meat was just the way I like it. DRY!!!!! (No sauce). The ham was excellent.
*The wonderful smoky smell outside the restaurant proved to be a good sign. I
ordered the long bun sandwich lunch special and it was delicious. The beef and
turkey combination and a heap of fries was generous and I even had to take some
home. There were two kinds of sauce; I preferred to only try the mild one and I
liked it. The coleslaw was served in a scoop, ice cream style and the beans were
overflowing. I would definitely go back to the Branding Iron for the great food
and service we had there.
*A very good restaurant. The service
was impeccable and the food was very good and a great value. They had two quite
different sauces to appeal to taste of most folks.
Overall...definitely worth trip! (Thanks to the man from Leawood who gave us the tip on this one.)
*I enjoyed the Branding Iron the carafe at the table allowed everyone to fill
their own glasses. This was a first
and they did have strawberry. After 37 miles everyone was hungry and this might
help the ratings. The service after receiving our food was good and individual
checks were accepted. I would
certainly go back. It was nice to have a choice of sauces and I thought both
were good. As is the case most of the time I had enough food to take home. They
had on their menu Bar B Q salad which is not a common offering. It is too bad
Janna was not there to order it. Roger has the most comfortable seats to sit in.
*Branding Iron is king of the strip mall bbq joints!
Excellent service, smoky beef, beans and ambiance.
I'll go back alone if I must for more.
*The lunch special of two meats on a long bun with a ton of fries was great!
The mild sauce was really tangy and flavorful.
The service was very good. I
liked the originality of the place...next time I'll stay and have a beer!
Very "hometown, small town" kind of place..... |
