*I might have enjoyed this much more if the service had been better. I must have waited 30 minutes at a walk-up counter for my sliced beef sandwich. The area where I had to wait was in the south side of the building where it was hot from the afternoon sun. The sauce was a bit too hot for my taste, but the meat was flavorful and lean. The fries were good -- the kind that are soft and seasoned rather than crispy. I ordered a pound of sliced beef to take home for the holiday weekend and was mistakenly given one-half a pound. Once I pointed this out it was quickly corrected. I believe this place was not equipped to be a big feeder place. We had quite a large group and they ran out of red cream soda (much to Jerry's chagrin) and forks, (much to my dismay.) When I finally got my food there were no forks with which to eat it!

*I liked Big T's. It didn't start out very well when they lost my order, but once the food hit the stomach, it was very good. The prices were very reasonable and you get a great sandwich for your buck. The fries were excellent and the sauce had a little twang to it, but went down smoothly. The place is a converted Wendy’s and I almost asked them for a frosty but that could have taken more time off my lost order. I would recommend it highly and I would go back.

*I was fortunate to be one of the first in the group to order, consequently, my portions were as hefty as the service was swift (although I feel opinions in these areas will vary amongst the group). Between the burnt ends, fries, and beans- the fries unequivocally stood out. I have a relatively large appetite for a diminutive man- and I was unable to finish the meal. As for the atmosphere, think of Dave Thomas' daughter (Wendy) and Ollie Gates' son having a love child. It did have a television.

*The peppery sauce took away from the flavor of the meat. The meat alone was quite good, once you put the sauce on it, all you could taste was pepper!

*Burn ends were served on the cool, not quite warm enough for me. Fries were great!!! More food than I could eat!!!!

*As a first time GAS-er I should say that this is probably only the 5th time I've eaten BBQ since living in KC for 7 years. Therefore, I haven't developed the fine pallet of so many of the GAS connoisseurs, but I do have a few comments. The burnt ends were good, but inconsistent -some tender, some chewy, some were too fatty (although none of that stopped fellow GAS-ers from finishing my plate for me). The fries had good seasoning, but would have been much better if they were a bit crispier. The portions were HUGE - great bang for your buck! Thanks for inviting me! I look forward to going again.

*I had the chopped beef (brisket) sandwich, fries, beans and a drink for $5.78 Portions were generous for the price. However, it was obvious that the folks that ordered first received bigger portions than those that ordered last! Sometimes it pays to be first. They must have thought they were going to run out of meat. The brisket sandwich had a great smoked flavor. The skins-on fries were a bit on the soggy side. Beans were flavorful and the sauce had some zing to it. I don't think they were ready for a group of 20 or so to walk in. Service was slow. Check out the smoker on the back side of this former Wendy's burger joint.

*Ran out of cream before I got to order. A place that only expects 10 for lunch. The person taking the orders was confused with even a simple order. The sausage was excellent. The fries were as good as any place I have ever eaten. The prices were very low. A beef sandwich and fries for $ 2.95. what a deal. Plenty of room for all of us to eat together. I would go back no later than 11am to make sure I got cream soda and a fork to eat with.

*Big T's gave me a whopping sandwich for $3.50 so I was very impressed with the value until others who came after me claimed that I got all the beef. They will, therefore, probably temper my enthusiasm for the value. Other pluses include the excellent fries and very good beans. My only two problems with Big T's is an apparent lack of cleanliness and some excess fattiness of the beef. I would certainly go back.

*Sauce was too thin.

*Not bad. Good value.  Large portions.  Meat was a little fatty.  Fries were very good and plentiful.

*Very good sausage, not fatty, good blend of spices.

*The food was good. The fries were interesting. The place is an old Wendy's restaurant that needs to be changed at least some so it does not feel like Wendy's. The first guy got a sandwich and fries for $3.75 that was a great deal... 8 guys later the same sandwich deal appeared to be an appetizer (literally a fourth of the meat) The taste was good, but meal was disappointing.

*The company was good...just not much outstanding about the place.
