*I thought Quicks 7th St BBQ was okay. I
had a pretty decent ham sandwich but I missed the extra layers of ham that
I have received at other restaurants. This comes from a guy who likes "portions"
for a hefty appetite. The atmosphere was very plain and pictures of racecars
on the walls were the big attractions. The service was very good and the
waitress had the food and drinks to us in about five minutes. It was good
that Dan joined us from Washburn and we sure do miss his odd jokes and
sense of humor.
*Had the quality been as good as the quantity
this would be a great place to eat. That was not the case. A very average
place. Not a place I would go back to. Nice company.
*Not good. My pork sandwich was piled high but
the meat tasted like it came out of an oven - not a smoker. The beans had
a cardboard taste to them and the fries were just OK. Reasonable prices.
A joint type atmosphere - right across the street from a meat packing plant.
Maybe they ran out of wood for the smoker that day. Fortunately, Jumbo
sized glasses of pop were served to wash down the meal.
*An average BBQ joint. Portions were great
-- service was friendly and fast. Fries were pretty good. Beans
and meat were disappointing. Beans lacked flavor and meat was dry and had
no smoke flavor. As always, the company was outstanding!
*The #1 sandwich with fries and soft drink was
a good price, but the beef tasted like just average roast beef -- needed
the sauce for any favor at all. Beans were unusual, not the usual
baked beans -- I wouldn't order a side again. Atmosphere was very
average with paneling and "Bud" signs everywhere. Liked the view
of Bichelmeyer Meats out the window, the attentive "waitperson" and the
booth that held eight G.A.S. members comfortably. Great to have Dan
Mueller along and was impressed that Dave didn't spill any sauce on his
white shirt!
*Just okay, I guess.
*Great service. Like the size of the drinks.
The sauce could
have used more body.
I bet those beans were bushes baked beans. Over all it was a nice
place, has been in the KCK area for years
*I had a beef brisket sandwich. Excellent
portions, but meat lacked that distinctive hickory smoked flavor.
Sauce was good but a bit on the thin side, plenty hot but not real flavorful.
Slaw was too creamy for my taste.
*Beans were ordinary canned with a little meat
tossed in. Sauce lacked flavor, then bit back several seconds
after swallowing. The beef sandwich had a lot of meat, but I found
it to be dry and somewhat flavorless. Service was very good.
*A nice lunch. The meat, although plentiful,
lacked flavor...not even a touch of smoke. Good service. Nice
people. It was... a decent meal. |
